Digital Video Analytics (DVA) also known as machine vision. Machine vision
systems are designed to perform narrowly defined tasks such as counting objects
within an intersection, reading license plates, and searching for pedestrians
along sidewalks. Frequently, tasks associated with machine vision extend roles
traditionally occupied by human beings whose degree of failure is classically
high through distraction, illness and circumstance. However, humans may display
finer perception over the short period and greater flexibility in classification
and adaptation to new activites as they emerge. Through the integration of
advanced analytic systems many of the advantages usually associated with human
interaction can be performed by more advanced expert systems.
